The other day I was scrolling through my social media news feed, as I tend to do while eating my breakfast, and my attention was caught by a video. In this video they were making banana bread puddings. It showed the process of making these incredibly tasty looking individual puddings using just banana, egg and milk as the custard. Imagine if you can, for a moment, a warehouse. A huge warehouse. And now fill this warehouse with row after row of filing cabinets. 

Why am I asking you to imagine a warehouse full of filing cabinets? This is the warehouse of your mind. And in this warehouse we store all of our memories and behavioural and thought templates. Last month I kept seeing adverts for the great 'Dechox' - a sponsored month without a single drop of chocolate. This strangely instantly appealed to me. I say strangely, as anyone who knows me can attest to, I am a huge chocolate fiend. I suppose it appealed to me on a few levels. One, I wanted to kick start my healthy eating again, which had slipped slightly thanks to Christmas, and never come quite back. And two, because I wanted to prove to myself once and for all, that I don't need chocolate.

This weekend just past, I was at a wonderful course run at The Clifton Practice (where I trained as a hypnotherapist). The course was on Mindfulness and Acceptance Based Strategies - quite the mouthful I know! And do you know what, I was enlightened! The whole weekend seemed to be full of 'Eureka' moments for me. So many principles of mindfulness really resonated with me and my life at the moment. Naturally, I came away with this invigorated attitude, 'Right, that's it, I am practicing mindfulness through meditation every day and it's going to be great!'...
